The show's success has resulted in similar spin-off series based in Chicago and Compton. It has aired ten seasons and chronicles the daily operations and staff drama at an African American–owned and operated tattoo shop in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. She addressed this during a recent interview.Black Ink Crew is an American reality television series that premiered on January 7, 2013, on VH1. But she may be making her return to television soon. Her past experiences on the reality show drove her to start her own production company and pursue a career in radio. So black people weren’t portrayed with enough sensitivity and care on the show while they dealt with serious issues like drug addiction. She’s been vocal about her issues with the production side of “Black Ink Crew.” In her opinion, the team of producers was never diverse enough.

But the constant insults didn’t keep Dutchess from moving forward. In fact, Dutchess was brought up a lot since walking away. However, leaving the show didn’t stop her from being discussed. With tension following everywhere she went and every interaction with the crew, Dutchess decided it was time for her to walk away from the reality show. Plus, some had their own issues with Dutchess including Sky and Miss Kitty. So they began to come for Dutchess out of loyalty. Eventually, the rest of the crew sided with her ex.
